Last Saturday we visited Berlin for the first time since quite long time now. As usual, without any special plans, apart from visiting our favourite cafes and bars. We saw a couple of christmas market from the S-bahn windows, but we did not plan on visiting any of them this time. But then I learned that there is a scandinavian market, Lucia Weihnachtsmarkt, so we decided to make one exception ;).
It is held until 22nd December, in Prenzlauerberg, at the Kulturbrauerei, old brewery buildings, which are now home to a cinema and some clubs. It seems like a perfect place for such market, it creates a super cosy atmosphere. I hoped to find there more decorations and traditional products, but there were only a couple of them. There were plenty of stalls with mulled wine, on the other hand. From german glühwein, through swedish and icelandic glögg and finnish glögi. And if you’re hungry you can try some reindeer meat with lingon mustard. We did not drink all types of wine, but it was still really nice and cosy, so if you’re closer to Berlin than Scandinavia, be sure to have a look at Lucia market 🙂
