christmas market in sigtuna

December 19, 2015

My second visit to Sigtuna happenend exactly on my birthday, since it was the weekend of Christmas markets and Saint Lucia celebrations. These are actually quite old meories, from 2011, but never published on my previous blog. I haven’t visited Sweden during winter ever since, but hopefully the Christmas celebrations at Sigtuna are still as lovely as they used to be.

Lots of stalls was just simply people of Sigtuna selling their home backed cakes, or handmade decorations. Childreen stood in front of their houses, singing christmas carols od selling homemade marshmallows (delicious!). All the streets and houses were decorated with traditional ornaments, and then there was the Saint Lucia celebrations, with traditional songs and parade. And even when we came back to Stockholm, the bus driver was dressed as a Santa Claus! How lovely!
